Matson’s Lab is offering one position to be filled by a laboratory technician with a strong interest in one or more of the following areas; wildlife management, hunting, conservation and laboratory histology work. Applicants should enjoy following established laboratory protocol to produce quantities of accurate and high-quality data to assist professional wildlife managers and be able to work in a relaxed but professional laboratory environment with other technicians.
Technicians begin by learning the most basic lab processing steps. The apt technician will enjoy exercising the high mental focus needed to obtain results that meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy and are important contributors to wildlife conservation. A Bachelor’s Degree in biology or another branch of the sciences is required for full-time, permanent employment. Laboratory experience is preferred, but not required. Excellent computer literacy is required (Microsoft Office). Starting hourly wage is $16/hr. Prior histology experience is not required. The lab provides an intensive training and promotion schedule and the apt technician can be eligible for promotion as soon as one year. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits that include additional bonus based on productivity within the lab.
