    Job Summary and Qualifications

    To coordinate and support simulation experiences for all learners in collaboration with Directors of Clinical Learning, campus and college leadership and program faculty to ensure quality and continuity in the achievement of course student learning outcomes (CSLOs) for all programs. Provides oversight of all simulated learning experiences for all nursing programs ensuring Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best PracticeTM (HSSOBP) are met.


    Position Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and supervise the general operation of the simulation laboratory to provide standardized simulation experiences.
    • Assists faculty and students with the use and operation of the simulation equipment, supplies, and standardized simulation-based experiences.
    • May serve as faculty substitute in the facilitation of simulation sessions as needed.
    • Collaborates with campus leadership and college clinical leaders to obtain and provide training on equipment and supplies to be utilized in the simulation laboratory.
    • Coordinates the maintenance of equipment and supplies necessary for effective simulation-based experiences including communication with third parties in collaboration with college clinical leaders.
    • Coordinates the use of the clinical learning labs for all functions, including regular classes, special class sections, open lab, advanced clinical skills, replacement clinical experiences, Competency Performance Examinations (CPEs), and special events.
    • Assists with standardized orientation and training for faculty and technicians in accordance with the HSSOBP.
    • Oversee and assist with the hiring, training, performance appraisal, and mentoring of dedicated simulation faculty and technicians under the direction of the campus leadership.
    • Collaborates with the Directors of Clinical Learning to facilitate orientation, training, and ongoing professional development in the use of clinical simulation in accordance with the HSSOBP.
    • Maintains campus simulation inventory and inventory systems in collaboration with campus and college clinical leaders and simulation technicians.
    • Performs walk-through evaluations on faculty facilitators for all programs and reports findings to campus leadership.
    • Makes recommendations for curriculum changes for all programs to the curriculum council and Directors of Clinical Learning based on research and needs identified when performing oversight in simulation.

    • Communicates and integrates college-wide policy and process changes regarding simulation standardization and operation.
    • Attend campus level course committee meetings.

    What qualifications you will need:

    • Unencumbered Licensure: Applicable state as a Registered Nurse.
    • Education: Minimum of a Master of Science Degree with a major in nursing from an accredited institution required. Attainment of Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or eligible.
    • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse. Minimum two (2) years teaching in a simulation setting preferred. Special Qualifications: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of contemporary nursing skills. Organizational and planning skills; knowledge of the function and operation of the various simulation models available in the clinical learning laboratory. Effective written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and follow-through. Demonstrated ability to use personal computers, word processing, spreadsheet, and/or database. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
    • Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: Position requires critical thinking, reading, planning, preparing, evaluating, and decision making. Physical demands in classroom and office are minimal and considered sedentary work with occasional lifting and/or carrying such articles as supplies, files, and books (25 pounds minimum). Operation of standard office equipment such as phone, computer, classroom projector, and printer/scanner, occurs on a frequent basis.
