Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for conducting various laboratory instruments, analyzing data, and maintaining accurate records. You will work closely with others to contribute to the advancement of Brothers Laboratory Services.
Duties
Primary duty will be to run and operate a ICP-MS and assist Brothers Laboratory Services in environmental testing and certifications.
- Perform environmental testing according to established protocols and procedures while assisting in the production of new protocols and procedures
- Collect, prepare, and analyze samples using a variety of scientific techniques and equipment
- Record and interpret data accurately, ensuring that results are documented in a clear and organized manner
- Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance as needed
- Adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects
- Stay up-to-date with relevant scientific literature and advancements in the field
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, chemistry, or related discipline)
- Previous experience working with ICP-MS and environmental testing
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques including prepping and analyzing water samples while maintaining quality control. This includes dilutions and acid digestions
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with data analysis software
