Our clinical labs preform microbiology testing to determine microbial cleanliness, infectious disease and donor eligibility testing, as well Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) testing to successfully match organ transplant recipients with compatible donors. If you are looking for a fun exciting opportunity with the ability to make a positive impact in the lives of donors and transplant recipients look no further!Laboratory Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Supervise the day-to-day operation of the department to insure smooth flow of samples and testingOversees the scheduling of staff to ensure production schedules are metCounsels staff with regard to problems encountered in daily operations Works with Quality Assurance to resolve client complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendation to managementIdentifies process improvements to better meet client expectations and company objectivesRecommends new equipment for the departmentOversees the monitoring of inventory/ordering by establishing and maintaining par levels and re-stocking points for supplies and reagentsServes as a liaison for the department to outside vendorsPerforms duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agenciesSupports VRL Eurofins’ business philosophy, leadership values and ethicsConduct timely investigations in coordination with Quality Assurance Related to site quality events, including but not limited to customer complaints, inquiries, non-conformances, corrective actions, and audit findings.Performs duties n compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies and cGMP expectations, including, but not limited to: Facility and equipment maintenance, validation review and approval, training (internal, continuing education, proficiency testing, annual GMP, etc.)Meets basic expectations of VRLS’s quality management system, including but not limited to good workmanship, adherence to standard operational procedures, training, good documentation practices, accurate recordkeeping so the company may meet its stated quality policy and objectives.This laboratory carefully maintains all hazardous materials. All employees must abide by VRL Eurofins’s Safety and Exposure procedures. This includes using the provided safety clothing and equipment.QualificationsThe Ideal Candidate has:Computer skillsLaboratory skillsHighly self-motivated; team-player; ownershipFlexible scheduleAnalytical thinking and communication skillsBasic Minimum Qualifications:Infectious disease test experience and related licenses are required;NOTE: HI laboratory license is mandatory for the role; the loss of licensure or failure to renew license will result in an unpaid of leave of absence or termination (to be determined by laboratory Management).Licenses: MLT/MT/CLS/MLS/CHT/CHS/MB or related REQUIREDHLA experience and license is PLUSBachelor's degree with basic science education, including math, chemistry, physics; biology/molecular biology/microbiology/immunology preferred;Ability to organize, communicate, teach, and work with others in an effective mannerAbility to manage and schedule the work of othersKnowledge of federal, state, and local standards, regulations, guidelines, and requirements affecting operations of a clinical reference laboratoryAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipAdditional InformationPosition is full-time, 1st shift, 8:30am to 5PM, Monday-Friday, with overtime as needed.
