Job Description
TheProduction Supervisorwill be responsible forLinear Departmentpersonnel and Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost resultswhile leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Candidate willwork in coordination withProduct Engineers, Production Planner, Assembly Production Supervisorand LTS Production Managerto ensureexecutionoftasksand milestones.
Responsibilities:
* Ensures Safety of allLinear Departmentpersonnelandimmediately addresses any safety concern.
* Ensures Quality of product built in the Linear Department andre-prioritizes work if product must be put on hold for quality department review/disposition.
* Achievement of Delivery and Cost goalsin the Linear Department; ensuringadherencetostandard work and manufacturing instructions.
* Leadscontinuous improvement efforts,includingdevelopment ofstandard work,balancing of operator loading, execution of time studiesandimplementation of6Sinitiatives.
* Leadsmanufacturing problemsolving efforts, investigatesprocess failures and implementscorrective actionsin support of all shifts.
* ImplementsLean methodologies includingpoint of use tooling, material presentation, waste eliminationand process improvements.
* Trains and mentors assigned personnel on EBOS, ISO procedures, manufacturing documentation and continuous improvement.
* Supports Linear Transfer Systems team with production results tracking and identification/implementation of countermeasures to improve performance.
* Responsible for accurate time clock reporting of assigned personnel and timecard approvals.
* Ensures accuracy of inventory in production areas and supports weekly cycle counting of product.
* Interfaceswith production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, andproduct engineers.
Requirements:
The successful candidatemust haveaminimumof 3yearsof project, manufacturing or related engineering experience.Additionally, it is desired that the candidate has experience/educationin the following areas:
* BS in an engineering/businessdiscipline
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs /projects
* Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
* Established project management skills with the ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
* Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices and in-depth understanding ERP/MRP planning systems
* Excellent verbal and presentation skills suitable for interaction with production team and with various level of management
* Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques
* Strong skills in MS Windows - Excel, Word and Power-point. Familiar with and able to work in MS Project.
