Being a Librarian - Higher Ed. provides descriptive records, subject headings, and classification numbers to facilitate the access of library materials. Requires a master's degree of library science. Additionally, Librarian - Higher Ed. typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Librarian - Higher Ed. gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Attainment of a minimum of a master's degree from a recognized college or university in library science or a related field and three years of experience in professional library work, including a minimum of one year's administrative and supervisory experience.
