4-day school week, 8 hours a day, Full-time, 166 scheduled working days/school year
TITLE: Library Aide
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed; attention to detail, ability to track data and follow up with appropriate resources
- Ability to create and maintain an attractive, functional and organized environment for student learning
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To provide a well-organized, smooth functioning library environment in which students can take full advantage of the materials available and develop a love for reading.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write monthly notices to homeroom teachers concerning overdue books and collect fines for such books.
- Make simple repairs on damaged books and process more severely damaged books for repair at the bindery.
- Ready books for reserve on teachers' requests and maintain the Reserve Shelf.
- Assist in the annual inventory of library materials and the preparation of lists of missing books and books to be discarded.
- Oversee the general neatness and attractiveness of the library and displays.
- Order new books at direction of Librarian.
- Must be able to pass a CBI check
Sterling is located in Logan County in the Northeastern corner of Colorado on Interstate 76 alongside the Platte River.
