The Library Van Driver picks up and delivers library materials to each of the 18 county library

facilities in a correct and timely manner. There is a regular delivery schedule, and each library is

visited Monday through Friday. Light maintenance tasks are performed at Chester County

Library & District Center and the Henrietta Hankin Branch. A valid Pennsylvania Driver’s

License and a clear driving record are required.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to pack library materials to be delivered each

day and load the van; deliver, pick-up, and sort library materials for delivery to the member

libraries on the assigned route; unload materials at Chester County Library and deliver materials

to internal library departments; and to perform janitorial or light maintenance duties at Chester

County Library and Henrietta Hankin Branch.

All library positions require the following criminal background and child abuse clearances:
Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP); Child Abuse History
Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse); and Fingerprint based
federal criminal history submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent
(FBI).
