POSITION PURPOSE: Provide quality professional development and consultant services to assist Lane County School Districts improve student achievement through current and rich library media resources.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Design, develop, organize and deliver to local districts staff development, training and presentations aligning with district goals
2. Lead and facilitate discussions with advisory committees, district and ESD staff, and others as assigned.
3. Act as liaison and Lane ESD representative with Lane County school districts and county, state and regional organizations as assigned.
4. Assist districts with ongoing library needs assessments, automation issues and program development and evaluation, including providing information on available resources and referrals as appropriate.
5. Organize, synthesize and report information on district programs as assigned.
6. Maintain knowledge and skills on current research, effective practices and trends for assigned area, including the effective integration of technology in instruction.
7. Serve as resource on copyright questions.
8. Assist districts as appropriate in coordinating upgrades and maintenance of library management systems.
9. Act as Librarian of Record for assigned districts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelors degree appropriate to assignment. Master’s Degree preferred.
2. Valid Oregon Teaching license; Library Media endorsement.
3. Minimum three years successful experience providing library media services.
4. Minimum three years successful experience developing and delivering staff development and training to adult learners.
5. Demonstrated ability to make formal presentations and facilitate diverse groups, solicit input and to synthesize and summarize information.
6. Ability to use technology as a tool in daily work, and the ability to provide leadership in developing and teaching teachers the instructional use of technology.
7. Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
8. Valid Oregon Driver’s License
