Library Researcher carries out research activities in a library. Processes requests for research information and compiles information on related topics. Being a Library Researcher requires a bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Library Researcher relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Under the general direction of the Library Director, staffs the Library Circulation Desk and provides assistance to Library patrons in person, over the phone and via e-mail. Handles circulation and Library reserve transactions; patron record creation and problems; assists with maintenance of the Reserve Collection. Processes interlibrary loan borrowing and lending requests. Receives and distributes incoming mail including items ordered and journal issues. Orders print library books and library supplies; enters acquisitions records for purchased and gift materials in the library system; changes locations of library materials in the Sierra Library System as requested; does book labelling and end processing. Ensures VR headsets and TV remote and mouse are kept charged; Assists with special projects including typing projects, displays, and general maintenance of the Library including maintaining library supplies; submitting work orders to Facilities and IT; making suggestions for improvement.

• In conjunction with interlibrary loan requests, is able to determine availability of specific articles in the TUC Library using A-Z Journals, PubMed Linkout, and Article Linker and provide to patrons
• Able to apply knowledgeably current policies, procedures and technologies pertaining to TUC Library circulation and reserve functions; acquisitions receiving, the Library catalog, and the Summon discovery system.
• Is reliable and dependable in carrying out job duties which are strongly linked to timeliness and consistency. After training, is able to work independently, asking questions as needed.
• Demonstrates a strong service-oriented approach to Library patrons
• Is well organized and maintains a good workflow given the various responsibilities. Inquires appropriately with Library Director regarding priorities or problems as needed.
