Being a Library Researcher requires a bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Library Researcher relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. The purpose of this position is to assist library patrons in the use of library services. This is accomplished by registering new patrons; providing an orientation on the use of the library; assisting patrons with checking materials in and out; maintaining patron accounts; shelving; providing one-on-one assistance to individuals needing reference assistance, helping with computer applications, accessing the internet or using library databases; and resolving patron service issues. Other duties include assisting with developing and offering library events and classes, maintaining excellent customer service skills, and interacting with other City employees and citizens. This position does not provide direction to other employees.
Typical Work Schedule: Part time weekdays and Saturdays.
