Library Services Director jobs in Billings, MT
Library Services Director supervises, maintains, and enhances policies and procedures for a library. Oversees professional and support staff involved in cataloging, indexing, issuing books/materials, and keeping records of items on loan. Being a Library Services Director selects books and publications for purchase and subscribes to pertinent periodicals as allowed for by the given budget. Requires master's of library and information science from an ALA-accredited school. Additionally, Library Services Director typically reports to top management. The Library Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Library Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Position Overview
$16.00/hour – 2 Positions
Work Schedules:
- Position #1 – 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Position #2 – 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8:15 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. on Saturday
Position is 40 hours per week beginning May 20, 2024 through August 5, 2024. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Applicants must be able to maintain a pleasant customer service attitude in an extremely busy environment. The Children’s Services Aide must be able to work successfully with children, tweens, teens, and their parents. This position may also assist with bike library programs and community outreach events.
