Library Services Director supervises, maintains, and enhances policies and procedures for a library. Oversees professional and support staff involved in cataloging, indexing, issuing books/materials, and keeping records of items on loan. Being a Library Services Director selects books and publications for purchase and subscribes to pertinent periodicals as allowed for by the given budget. Requires master's of library and information science from an ALA-accredited school. Additionally, Library Services Director typically reports to top management. The Library Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Library Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. The primary responsibilities of the Library Associate 3 are conducted at the main public service point; the Circulation Desk.
Library team members provide continuous customer service by creating library cards, checking out library books, movies, hot spots, and recreational supplies.
Shelving books, placing reservation holds on library resources, handling fines / fees, processing lost materials, and problem solving customer accounts are daily transactions.
The Library Associate 3 team member participates in the facilitation and physical set up of library programs, tours and outreach events.
The library team succeeds in providing each customer a positive experience as we participate in in-person collaboration and the recognition of each other's attributes and achievements.

Must work on-site in the library
Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to work Saturdays
Must be able to work as early as 8 : 00 AM
Must be able to work as late as 7 : 15 PM
Must have strong customer service skills
Must work well with diverse populations
Must be proficient at Alphabetization
Must be proficient in using app-based devices, computers, printers, fax machines, Microsoft Office, and office equipment
Must possess and demonstrate excellent written and oral communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Must utilize considerable sound judgment, discretion and initiative in developing solutions
Physical Requirements
Must be able to frequently move from place to place within the location
Must be able to file and retrieve books and other items on high / low shelves
Must be able to lift, push, pull, hold, carry heavy boxes, books, and other equipment weighing up to 35 pounds
Must be able to work in confined spaces, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb
Must be able to sit for long periods of time
Must be able to maintain focus on assignments
