Library Services Director supervises, maintains, and enhances policies and procedures for a library. Requires master's of library and information science from an ALA-accredited school. Additionally, Library Services Director typically reports to top management.     Position Overview: Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the Multi-Media Specialist will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional services to our patrons of all ages. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing your creativity and organizational skills to contribute to the vibrant community we serve.

    Responsibilities:

    • Create and maintain advertisements, flyers, and promotional materials for library programs, events, and activities catering to patrons of all ages.
    • Develop and assemble materials for projects designed for children aged 4-10, fostering creativity and learning.
    • Manage updates to the library's website and social media platforms to keep the community informed and engaged.
    • Contribute to the library's archiving project as required, preserving our rich history and heritage.
    • Provide audio/visual support for library activities, meetings, and programs, ensuring seamless equipment operation.
    • Oversee project management tasks, including supply procurement, vendor coordination, and event registration, to facilitate successful library programs and events.
    • Coordinate participants in major fundraising events including “Paint the Village”, and the“Experience Osterville” calendar and directory.
    • Performing tasks to prepare new library materials for circulation including, but not limited to covering and labeling books.

    Skills Required:

    • Proficiency in Canva for design tasks and promotional materials.
    • Experience with website updating and content management systems.
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive for document management and collaboration.
    • Ability to coordinate with children's services specialist and identify children's crafts, calendars, projects and engage young learners, and oversee general activity in the children’s room.
    • Proficient in scanning and archiving documents for organizational purposes.
    • Familiarity with Audio visual equipment and Zoom for audio/visual support during library activities.
    • Strong event management skills to coordinate logistics and ensure successful outcomes.
    • The ability to work independently as well as work as a member of a team is a critical success factor.

    Under the direction of the Circulation Assistant Supervisor, Librarians and Library Management, the Circulation and this position performs a wide variety of circulation and patron support services that include but is not limited to:

    - Processing return books from patrons;

    - Processing books being checked out for patrons;

    - Processing delivery of books returned from other libraries;

    - Sorting returned books by genre;

    - Assisting patrons with the use of computers, access to the internet and printing, faxing, scanning and shredding, and an array of audio/visual equipment;

    - Assists patrons with questions;

    - Provides information on upcoming activities, events, and programs offered by OVL.

    - Tracking patron usage as required

    Schedule: 20-30 hours per week

    Days: Must be available regularly, year-round, on Friday, Saturday, and 4 hours on Sunday
