Library Services Director supervises, maintains, and enhances policies and procedures for a library. Oversees professional and support staff involved in cataloging, indexing, issuing books/materials, and keeping records of items on loan. Being a Library Services Director selects books and publications for purchase and subscribes to pertinent periodicals as allowed for by the given budget. Requires master's of library and information science from an ALA-accredited school. Additionally, Library Services Director typically reports to top management. The Library Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Library Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Position Summary
    This is a part-time position for a reliable student providing customer service at the Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (HSLIC) public service desk. Flexible shifts include daytime (8am-5pm) Monday-Friday hours and Saturday (12pm-5pm) hours. 15 hour a week position, work study only. 
     
    Duties include: 
    • Assisting students, faculty, staff and members of the public with resource access, reference, and general questions in person or over the phone 
    • Checking library materials in/out 
    • Assisting with opening and closing the library 
    • Helping users with printing and computers 
    • Shelving returned items and shelf-reading the collection 
    • Assisting users with 3D printing, virtual reality, and the Anatomage anatomy table 
    • Participating in projects and other duties as assigned
