Library Services Director jobs in Santa Fe, NM
Library Services Director supervises, maintains, and enhances policies and procedures for a library. Oversees professional and support staff involved in cataloging, indexing, issuing books/materials, and keeping records of items on loan. Being a Library Services Director selects books and publications for purchase and subscribes to pertinent periodicals as allowed for by the given budget. Requires master's of library and information science from an ALA-accredited school. Additionally, Library Services Director typically reports to top management. The Library Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Library Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Performs complex administrative work planning, coordinating, and directing the operations of the public library system, administering the division budget, and related work as apparent or assigned. Manages library services for the City of Santa Fe and coordinates all activities of the City library system, consisting of one main library and two branches.
The City of Santa Fe is offering a hiring incentive of $1,000 for new hires that begin employment by June 30, 2022.
This recruitment is eligible for the sign-on incentive, new hires must agree to the terms of the incentive.
Proclamation of Emergency XVI- COVID-19 dated January 24, 2022, requires that new hires filling a vacant position shall maintain “up-to-date” vaccination status for COVID-19, meaning obtaining the vaccines and boosters recommended by the CDC as a condition of employment.
