The Marengo-Union Library District is looking for an innovative Youth Services Librarian to join our staff. The successful candidate will be a team player with a love of youth of all ages. The Marengo-Union Library currently runs a successful variety of youth programming and events with room for growth. Marengo-Union is a smaller yet growing community. Primary Responsibilities

Plans and implements programming for age groups birth to young adult.

Participates in collection development for youth and young adult materials, by budgeting, selecting, purchasing, and weeding print and e-materials.

Creates inviting displays and decorations.

Delivers outreach services to community organizations serving youth.

Maintains statistics for annual reports.

Manages Youth Services staff

Acts as a member of the Management Team

Qualifications

Master’s in Library Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience working with children required.

Library experience in Youth Services is preferred.

Proficient with technology.

Excellent public service skills.

Spanish language skills are a plus.

Pay: $42,640.00 per year
