This vibrant community welcomes approximately 150,000 people per day to work, eat, and shop. Reporting to the Technical Services Librarian, this position supports a department that prides itself on the highest quality of service as it prepares materials to enter the Library’s collection.
Major duties include, but are not limited to:- Prepare all formats of materials for circulation. Task includes applying spine labels and other labels; stamping materials; applying book covers; attaching other stickers, barcodes, etc.
- Mend books and magazines
- Reshelve library materials; pull materials from shelves as needed; keep shelves in good order
- Other similar tasks as necessary
Recommended minimum qualifications include- Attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Able to move loaded book carts and reach all shelves to a six-foot level, with stool
- Excellent customer service skills
This is a part time full-year position, 11.25 hours per week.
Hours are: Monday 2pm-6pm,
Tuesday 6pm-9:15pm, and
Thursday 3pm-6:15pm
Opportunity to work Sundays and summer Saturdays as overtime shifts.
Pay range starts at $15.38/hr with the opportunity to advance to a max rate of $16.31/hr through bi-annual increases.
