Assistant Director of Residence Life and the First Year Experience

Position Description

The Assistant Director of Residence Life will work collaboratively with students and campus constituents to develop, implement, and manage Coker's Residential Engagement Model, assist in the daily operation of the Office of Residence Life, serve as a student-conduct officer, and other major events in the Division of Student Services. This is a live-on position consisting of a fully furnished apartment and a 21 meal per week meal plan (during regular dining hours).

Essential Responsibilities

• Train, supervise, and evaluate 1 Graduate Area Coordinator and 21 Resident AssistantsOversee the management and execution of the Residential Engagement Model
• Assist in the daily operation of the Office of Residence Life
• Assist the Director of Residence Life with the housing lottery and assignment process
• Conduct student-conduct investigations, hearings, and sanctioning
• Work closely with campus constituents to address facilities or safety issues of Residence Halls
• In conjunction with the Director of Student Engagement, facilitate programming curriculum and part-time/student staffing (5-7 students) of the Cobra Den (this will include some weekend work)
• Serve in an emergency on-call rotation with other Student Services professional staff members
• Serve on various campus committees
• Perform other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate is able to live on campus, work flexible hours, and has experience working in a higher education environment.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and related work experience is required. Masters preferred.

This is a permanent, full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Residence Life with competitive salary and benefits. Review of application materials will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
