The Accounting Analyst is responsible for performing and assisting with the activities of the overall general accounting function, including, but not limited to, the financial processing of transactions for an organization. The primary function of the Accounting Analyst is to assist in maintaining accounting systems, procedures and policies, and to ensure the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as:
o Account maintenance
o Recording journal entries
o Recording cash transactions from bank detail
o Reconciling ledger accounts
· Verifying transactions comply with financial policies and procedures established by the Company
· Manage and maintain the Travel and Expense reporting system (Concur)
· Recording and processing credit card transactions
· Support accounts payable using accounting software and other programs when required
· Drafting and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures related to accounting processes
· Support processing invoices accurately and timely to assigned clients when required
· Processing Settlements and Accounts Payable (A/P) statements/reports when required
· Receiving and verifying invoices and requisitions for goods and services when required
· Performing other duties as assigned
· Associates Degree in a finance/accounting related field
· Two or more years accounting related experience
· Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered
· General understanding of accounting practices and principles
· Experience with automated accounting programs and systems
· Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material
· Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data
· Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
