Job Description
Administrative Faculty Contract. Non Tenure Track, Benefits Eligible. This position is being filled through an emergency appointment. Appointment to the role on a permanent basis is contingent upon meeting additional recruitment requirements
The Server Administrator position manages all server operating systems and server system software including: installation, administration, monitoring of system performance and capacity to ensure high levels of availability and security of supported productivity applications. This position oversees physical and virtual servers running Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, including Microsoft Active Directory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Active Directory - On a daily basis: monitor activity, manage users and OU’s, troubleshoot account issues, work with the college community on SSO projects, audit accounts, implement security policies and procedures, and manage group policies. Improve security posture and tier levels for NIST CSF and audit compliance.
SSO projects - Establish policy and procedure for requesting SSO projects. Work with requesters to implement SSO projects ensuring documentation is in place for compliance.
Server management - Monitor health of servers, keep patches up to date, develop and/or update policies and procedures for server management. Establish a schedule for back ups and tests regularly. Resolve vulnerability scanning issues on Tenable reports. Develop a vulnerability management program.
Windows-based operating system deployment and management - Maintain and update WSUS infrastructure and develop SCCM infrastructure and AZURE cloud service
Virtualization technologies - Maintain and update the current virtualization infrastructure, explore and research trends of virtualization technology for alternative cost savings for virtual environments.
Microsoft SQL server, queries, security, and management - Monitor and maintain Microsoft SQL servers
Disaster recovery/Business Continuity plan - Work with WNC IT, SCS, vendors, and the Executive team to develop and implement a disaster recovery plan and schedule testing scenarios for WNC’s Business Continuity plan (CoOp).
Compliance/audit - Collaborate with ISO, NSHE CISO to improve security posture and tier ratings for WNC’s NIST CSF. Work with Auditors as needed for compliance and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two years of related professional experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree (i.e., AA 3 or 4 yrs related professional experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
1-3 years experience and familiarity as follows:
3 years experience managing and supporting Active Directory servers and integrations
3 years experience in configuring and maintaining a Single Sign-On (SSO) environment across multiple applications
3 years experience using Windows-based operating systems deployment and management
1 year experience of supporting local and network-based storage systems
1 year experience in IIS Web Environments
1 year experience using virtualization technologies
3 years experience with Microsoft SQL server, queries, security, and management
Minimum Starting Salary Information:
This position is at a salary grade C. The minimum of the placement range is $66,244.64. The selected candidate will be placed at or above the minimum based on education and experience. WNC's placement range falls within the NSHE salary schedule:

Grants-in-aid for Faculty Employees
WNC is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee's spouse or domestic partner.
