Maintenance Planner devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Maintenance Planner work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Improving workforce productivity and work quality by planning and scheduling all maintenance work by: · Owning all maintenance activities from work request through work order completion. · Receiving, reviewing and validating work requests from CMMS (iMaint). · Converting approved work requests into work orders; estimating the labor required to complete each task, including tools and repair procedures. · Identifying and obtaining materials for jobs and verifying that critical items are in stock or available. · Coordinating work that requires downtime with other relevant departments. · Attending planning meetings with production and participating in overall plant scheduling of the following weeks’ work. · Reserving materials needed for planned maintenance and developing job kits. · Scheduling weekly meetings with production and maintenance advising the status of standing work requests, work orders, and/or maintenance backlog. · Reviewing data with maintenance supervisor on actual versus estimate labor and materials used. · Reviewing project costs with Maintenance leadership. · Reviewing work orders requiring significant design with maintenance leadership team. · Manage Preventative Maintenance program; recommend equipment to be included in PM plans, update and remove PM activities as required. · Coordinating service work with outside service providers. · Site CMMS Administrator Practice and perform according to the established safety practices that are set in place by Nature’s Path Foods by: · Abiding by all rules and safety regulations as set forth by Nature Path Foods. · Maintaining a safe work environment for the team and making the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager aware of any equipment or personnel safety issues. · Taking necessary and proper action when a problem or safety concern arises with equipment, product, materials or personnel. · o Knowing what safety equipment is used in a specific job task.
