Manufacturing Engineer assists in planning and designing manufacturing processes for a production facility. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Being a Manufacturing Engineer determines the parts, equipment, and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Additionally, Manufacturing Engineer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Manufacturing Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. What will you do?
• Specializes in several areas of knowledge regarding production / manufacturing processes: process design, ergonomics, capacity, simulation tools, investment, and cost analysis
• Strongly contributes to / leads continuous improvement actions
• Participates actively to Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and is responsible for ensuring that process robustness continuously replies to the needs of quality
• Contributes to the development of new products (manufacturability, feasibility)
• Studies the feasibility & profitability of investments adapted to the needs
• Dedicated to determining the time required to manufacture a product through the utilization of an appropriate method
• Manage the capacities vs workload balance with the dedicated tools (iQ simulation, CAMA, CORIM, Bridge..) in internal and external lines
• Optimize Lead Times and assure capacity of the lines
What qualifications will make you successful?
• Bachelor’s degree in a field of Engineering
• 2 plus years of experience in manufacturing quality, manufacturing engineering or equivalent
• Lean / Six Sigma knowledge, experience, certification
• Experience with 8D problem solving methodology, tool utilization (i.e. 5 Why, fishbone (cause & effect), Ishikawa diagram, PFMEA etc)
• Demonstrated analytical skills with data, problem solving resolution, and implementing projects resulting in measurable improvements within labor efficiency, material flow and overall equipment effectiveness
• Knowledge and experience within business software related to capacity planning such as SAP, ACCESS/SQL databases, and Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.
• Experience in AutoCAD, PLC programming and vision systems preferred
