We are currently looking for a dedicated Equipment Operator/Grounds person to join our skilled team at our quarry in Troutdale/Portland, OR.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Barge Offload:
o Operate 980 size loader loading hopper (includes pre-op, add fluids, fuel)
o Operate skid steer loader during clean up (includes pre-op, add fluids, fuel)
o Shovel or sweep deck if needed to prevent contamination between products
o Adjust winches and ropes as needed to keep barge secure
o Observe offloading conveyors for overloading, misalignment, broken / worn parts, guarding is in place, etc.
o Adjust swing conveyor as needed to center material flow into shore receiving hopper
o Startup of generator (includes pre-op, add fluids, fuel)
Maintenance / Non-operation duties:
o General inspection of barge condition – Hull, bin walls, hatches, hand holds, etc.
o Inspect tie off components - winches, cables, cleats, ropes, etc.
o Inspect dolphins, shackles and ropes attached
o Inspect all upper structure components:
? Conveyors
? Supports
? Walkways and handrails
? Swing conveyor tower
? Fuel conex
o Inspect fire extinguishers, life rings, ropes, etc.
o Be involved with annual load line inspection
o Do general repairs – minor welding, change parts, change oils, grease conveyor bearings
o Adjustment to conveyor components – belt cleaners, belt tracking, drive belts
o House keeping
? Clean up of deck inside bin walls
? Clean up of perimeter walkways (material buildup from conveyors or spillage)
? Keep operator / motor control center clean (Conex)
Compensation:
The wage range for this position is $23.96-$31.95/hr.
Basic knowledge of Equipment operation, conveyor systems and maintenance
Mechanical, troubleshooting and welding/fabrication skills preferred
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam and drug screen
Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and overtime
Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members
