Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Materials Handling Engineer will lead engineering efforts for the successful design and operation of all Fortera bulk material handling processes: flow rates, storage capacity, integration with product lines, mineral grinding, kiln operation/calcination, mineral dissolution, gas absorption, precipitation, solids dewatering, and drying.
This is a hands-on role requiring a driven, experienced mechanical, chemical, or industrial engineer who would be able to own and drive design decision points with respect to process set up and equipment selection such as belt conveyors, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, blenders, mixers, silos and hoppers.
The position is best suited for someone with a solid understanding of chemical production experience who understands how to move and manipulate dry bulk solids and fine powders (comparable to cement). Experience with dewatering slurries/cakes, plant operations, plant engineering activities, and equipment design and specifications decisions are pluses. This includes designing storage facilities, material load out to trucks and rail, managing inventory levels, implementing quality control measures, and coordinating with procurement.
This individual must be able to deal with the unknown challenges brought on by implementing new technology and manufacturing processes and is comfortable with not knowing all the answers but be able to make decisions and recommendations as we go.

The compensation package for this role includes a competitive base salary commensurate with experience of $125,000 - $150,000, well as an annual bonus and pre-IPO incentive stock options.
