Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. May assist in inventory of stock and stock rotation. Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. DUTIES:
• Transport or store materials or merchandise
• Manually loading or unloading freight cars, trucks, or other transporting devices
• Unpacking and/or shelving items and/or materials in proper locations
• Sort, transport, categorize, package, palletize, document, and disassemble furniture/equipment.
• Removing, identifying, sorting, and replacing similar property in tri-wall storage containers
• Operating hand moving equipment such as, but not limited to, pallet jacks, floor dollies and hand trucks
• Operating forklifts, stake body trucks and pallet movers
• Disassemble furniture, computer equipment and electronic assemblies
• Operating/driving forklift up to 20,000 pounds
• Computer skills
• Using computers for research including but not limited to part numbers, National Stock Numbers and Local Stock Numbers
• Complete the following documentary forms, command forms and other Government required forms DD form 1348, DD 2500, NAWCWD 7320/10.
• Package all items destined for DLA for proper loading/delivery to DLA
o Prepare for transport items destined for DLA and create documents associated with those items.
o Preprocess property before disposing of or transporting to DLA Disposition Services, such as, removal of batteries, circuit cards, etc.
o Produce completed DD 1348s for each item designated for DLA Disposition Services and shall attach the DD 1348s to corresponding equipment and prepare property for transport to DLA Disposition Services facility
• Contact the DLA Disposition Services to schedule a time for drop-off
o may be required to transport property designated for DLA Disposition Services
• Prepare the property for shipping to include palletizing, wrapping, and preparing for disposal
• The Contractor shall move property as necessary for storage or loading onto transportation vehicles
• Assist with pickup and transportation of Navy property located on center and off center that has been identified by the Government as being of historical value
o Items of historical value to the Command are sometimes located off Center and at private residences.
o Perform pickup and transport of items from these locations within a 400-mile radius of either China Lake or Point Mugu
• Assist with the transport of items being used either for display at command sponsored events or for Artifacts display
• Assist with destruction of classified and unclassified material, such as paper, hard drives, film, etc.
• Package Classified Documents/Equipment in accordance with regulations
• Remove hard drives and transport to Shred Facility
• Assist with shredding of bins of FOUO, CUI and PII picked up from customers at China Lake and Point Mugu
• Maintain the ShredEx metrics in the Government data system
o Metrics consist of poundage, number of bins and date of pick-up
• Monitor Government provided database for out of cycle pick-ups, and shall schedule accordingly
• Assist in delivery of packages in excess of 70 lbs
o This includes loading, transporting and unloading packages at various facilities at China Lake
May be required to deliver large packages between NAWCWD sites
May be required to load customer trucks at the China Lake shipping facility
• Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must possess a secret clearance or ability to obtain one
• Knowledge and understanding of the different classifications of materials and how to handle each type
• Ability to lift to 55 pounds

• Location: Point Mugu, CA
• Hours:
o Monday through Thursday
0600 AM – 1530 PM, half hour lunch
o Working Friday
0600 AM – 1530 PM, half hour lunch
