Medical Librarian Assistant assists the librarian and users with the operations of a medical library. Helps with computer searches, inter-library loans, cataloging, circulation, general reference and questions about library services. Being a Medical Librarian Assistant organizes and shelves materials and prepares new materials for circulation. May perform data entry to update library systems. Additionally, Medical Librarian Assistant may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Librarian Assistant works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Principal Duties:
-Assist with front desk phone calls and scheduling patients
-Can explain basic dermatology services to patients in a professional, clear manner
-Interview patients and document the patient encounter, load photos into electronic medical records
-Assist with administrative tasks for health insurance verification, prior authorizations
-Set up tools and assist with common dermatologic procedures and surgeries
-Prepare and clean medical instruments and exam rooms for patient encounters and procedures
-Call patients to inform them of labs or pathology results
-Communicate the dermatologist’s plan to patients including skincare regimen
-Assist in organizing clinic inventory
Minimum Qualifications:
-Graduated from an accredited program as a Certified Medical Assistant
-1-2 years experience in a dermatology office setting
-Knowledge of common dermatology procedures and terminology
-Possess and maintain a current CPR certification
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with significant experience communicating with patients
-Ability to report to work with punctuality and consistent attendance
-Quick learner with attention to detail
-Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize
