Medical Librarian Assistant assists the librarian and users with the operations of a medical library. Helps with computer searches, inter-library loans, cataloging, circulation, general reference and questions about library services. Being a Medical Librarian Assistant organizes and shelves materials and prepares new materials for circulation. May perform data entry to update library systems. Additionally, Medical Librarian Assistant may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Librarian Assistant works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Take patient medical histories and record vital signs
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize medical instruments
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records
- Provide patient education on medical conditions and treatment plans
Experience:
- Minimum of [2] years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Proficiency in performing X-Ray procedures is required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
