Medical Librarian (MLS) provides guidance and assistance to users researching medical information using database searches, inter-library loans, and other resources. Ensures the cataloging and circulation of materials are performed efficiently and correctly according to policies and standards. Leads or contributes ideas for library strategic planning, quality initiatives, and the development of digital media and educational resources. Our independent reference laboratory prioritizes manageable workloads and schedules—we are closed on holidays (holidays are paid by the company!) and have limited weekend hours. No Sundays, early mornings, or late nights! We have the following position available:
MLT or MLS in Hematology and Molecular Testing, with future crosstraining to Chemistry possible. Hours are 10:30 am to 7 pm. This position includes an every 3rd Saturday rotation. Saturday hours are 7:30 am until approximately 1 pm.
Duties include:
-Perform testing in listed disciplines on blood, urine, stool, and other body fluids.
-Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
-Utilize the laboratory information system to enter results and access information.
-Assist in procedure review, creation, and validation.
-Perform and evaluate quality control, calibration, and quality assurance data.
-Communicate effectively and professional with physicians and other medical staff, co-workers, clients, and patients.
-Teach and train MLT and MLS students.
Candidates must meet CLIA requirements for high-complexity testing under 42CFR493.1489. Certification as an MLT or MLS/MT by the American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent is strongly preferred.
Candidates must be able to interact positively with co-workers and clients. Attention to detail, critical thinking, accountability, and reliability are required. New grads are encouraged to apply.
MLT salary range starting at $19.50 per hour.
MLS salary range starting at $23.50 per hour.
