Medical Librarian (MLS) provides guidance and assistance to users researching medical information using database searches, inter-library loans, and other resources. Ensures the cataloging and circulation of materials are performed efficiently and correctly according to policies and standards. Being a Medical Librarian (MLS) creates training materials and delivers library instruction and education programs for physicians and other staff. Leads or contributes ideas for library strategic planning, quality initiatives, and the development of digital media and educational resources. Additionally, Medical Librarian (MLS) maintains current knowledge of medical developments and scientific literature. Requires a master's degree in library science. Typically reports to a manager. The Medical Librarian (MLS) occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Position Summary

    The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) performs clinical laboratory tests by standard operating policies and procedures. As a MLS, you will understand method principles, performs quality control & calibrations, performs preventive maintenance, and analyzes results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or a biological, chemical, or physical science from an accredited institution
    • Bachelor's degree with a combination of 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) in biology and chemistry, obtained within or in addition to the degree is also acceptable
    • For non-CLS/MT degrees, one year of experience in a clinical laboratory is required

    Preferred:

    • Certification as MLS, BB, C, H or MB by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency

    Other Information

    • 40 hours a week
    • 2nd Shift (Monday - Friday), shift hours varies
    • Required to work every 3rd weekend and as needed
