Medical Librarian (MLS) provides guidance and assistance to users researching medical information using database searches, inter-library loans, and other resources. Ensures the cataloging and circulation of materials are performed efficiently and correctly according to policies and standards. Being a Medical Librarian (MLS) creates training materials and delivers library instruction and education programs for physicians and other staff. Leads or contributes ideas for library strategic planning, quality initiatives, and the development of digital media and educational resources. Additionally, Medical Librarian (MLS) maintains current knowledge of medical developments and scientific literature. Requires a master's degree in library science. Typically reports to a manager. To coordinate activities on the mounting department for the purpose of assuring that printing plates are managed in an accurate fashion so the plate mounter and press operator can easily achieve daily work goals. This position requires daily coordination with the mounting department and planning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Order and receive plates.
Manage/organize inventory of plates.
Monitor plate re-orders to maximize cost efficiency.
Support and assist plate mounters with problems.
Assures all plates are in house with no defects and pulled for upcoming orders.
Review specs for all new set-ups and changes.
Maintain Excel spreadsheet location map for all plate inventory.
Assist in any plant function as requested by Production Manager or Department Manager.
Works closely with Graphics Coordinator for plates for new jobs or design changes.
Ability to function as back up to scheduler.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Problem Solving: Be pro-active in recognizing/defining and then resolving problems.
Communication: Establish and maintain timely and effective feedback to Production Manager on pre-press issues.
Planning: Prioritize routine tasks, duties and assignments by defining short and long term goals.
Leading: Assist in search for continual improvement.
Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
EXPERIENCE:
Must be a high school graduate.
One (1) year experience in printing.
