Being a Medical Librarian (MLS) creates training materials and delivers library instruction and education programs for physicians and other staff. Leads or contributes ideas for library strategic planning, quality initiatives, and the development of digital media and educational resources. Additionally, Medical Librarian (MLS) maintains current knowledge of medical developments and scientific literature. Requires a master's degree in library science. Typically reports to a manager. Responsibilities
Accurately conduct and evaluate test analysis in assigned areas of responsibility.
Investigate any unusual and/ or inconsistent test request and results, equipment functioning and environmental issues upon occurrence.
Collect and process specimens, conduct tests, reports, and record results.
Prepare solutions, reagents, and stains in accordance with laboratory formulas and procedures.
Requirements
Associates Degree in medical Technology or related field or laboratory training with certification requirements
One year laboratory experienced preferred
Blood bank experience required
Registration as a medical Laboratory technician (MLT) by The Registry Board of the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) preferred
Or certification by HEW preferred
