Being a Medical Librarian (MLS) creates training materials and delivers library instruction and education programs for physicians and other staff. Leads or contributes ideas for library strategic planning, quality initiatives, and the development of digital media and educational resources. Additionally, Medical Librarian (MLS) maintains current knowledge of medical developments and scientific literature. Requires a master's degree in library science. Typically reports to a manager. The Medical Librarian (MLS) occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Position Summary
A Medical Lab Technician, Medical Technologist, or Medical Lab Scientist performs various quantitative and qualitative clinical laboratory studies to comply with physician requests for analyses of various blood, body fluids and tissues, to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Must follow established laboratory standards, practices, and procedures. Understands and complies with the Standards of Behavior and department policies, procedures, and regulations.

Must be able to provide and understand the specific communication, developmental and treatment needs of patients, families, and visitors ranging in age from neonate-birth to geriatric.
Must be able to make decisions about sample handling and perform testing of samples.
Must be able to perform instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and quality control.
Must be able to maintain accurate records and reporting of test results with the knowledge of critical values.
Must be able to withstand the stress and demands of an active position while responding calmly and efficiently in crisis situations.

Vision requirements: must be able to pass a color vision test.

May be required to perform critical tasks in special pathogens lab.
May be required to train new staff members or students.
