Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Medical Records Clerk to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY:
Receives and scans all incoming medical records into ARIA/EMR. Ensures that all scanned documents and electronically filed into correct note type with description, verifying name and DOB for accuracy. Ensures that all transcribed reports are scanned and filed in a timely manner in the charts. Logging, tracking and processing all incoming medical records requests, following HIPAA guidelines. Compiling all necessary information for external and internal audit requests. Competing records request received daily from other physicians office for more immediate scheduled appointments.

Education/Certification: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Equipment/Technology: Ability to use hospital information system, and operate basic computer functions and software.
Language/Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Mental Capabilities: Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
