Medical Records Transcriptionist jobs in New Mexico
Medical Records Transcriptionist transcribes medical dictation by physicians and other medical practitioners pertaining to patients assessment, diagnostics, therapy, and other medical reports. Understands medical terminology and the use of transcription software and equipment. Being a Medical Records Transcriptionist requires a high school diploma. May require Registered Healthcare Documentation Specialist (RHDS). Additionally, Medical Records Transcriptionist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Records Transcriptionist works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Flexibility on workload
Scope of Responsibilities:
Accurate verbatim transcription and editing of legal hearings/drafts from digital recordings.
Must be able to meet specific deadlines for completion of transcripts.
Required Skills/Qualifications
Minimum typing speed 65 wpm, minimum 95% accuracy.
Excellent attention to detail, active listening and reading comprehension skills
Effective communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word
Must be proficient in the English language and have a good ear for foreign/regional accents
Two (2) year as a word processor or transcriptionist
Must pass Government Clearance through Office of Personnel Management, which includes but is not limited to a criminal background check, reference checks, and drug screening as required by the client.
