π What You'll Do:
π In this pivotal role, you will:
- Accurately identify and solve real/potential problems within the Emergency Department, ensuring effective solutions and communication.
- Actively engage in various committees, representing the department and fostering ongoing communication.
- Advance the patient experience within the Emergency Department.
- Coach subordinates, provide constructive feedback, facilitate individual development plans, and document job performance.
- Adhere to all Human Resource policies.
- Effectively communicate departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.
- Implement evidence-based employee engagement practices.
- Build strong relationships and networks to achieve organizational and departmental goals.
- Participate in employee and patient rounding, identifying and mentoring potential future leaders.
- Enforce standards of emergency department care and establish processes for measuring and ensuring consistent compliance.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing emergency services program aligned with the hospital's mission.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies for patient services, safety, and environmental standards.
- Oversee a PI program to consistently monitor and evaluate critical aspects of care.
- Ensure operational excellence and the delivery of quality services in accordance with policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Follow the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
- Support the recruitment process to secure staffing talent.
- Perform other assigned duties.
π Qualifications:
π To excel in this role, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (required).
- Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 3 years of experience in emergency services (required).
- 3 years of leadership experience (preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice (required).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).

- 304 beds
- ER Beds: 27, undergoing significant renovation
- Trauma Level: 2; Previous experience with level 1 or 2 trauma is a must
- Volume: Consistent; staffing stabilized considerably
- FSED with 10-12 beds, seeing 10-15 patients a day
- Reporting structure: Reports to the COO
- Physician engagement: Strong
