HeartLand Child & Family Services is a leader in the mental health community and is dedicated to providing excellent supervision to unlicensed mental health professionals. Supervision hours provided weekly for those working toward licensure.
SKILLS: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Capacity to provide on-site community-based clinical support as needed. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Understanding of key customer service practices, such as assessing client needs, ensuring high-quality service, and measuring how satisfied customers are with the service they receive. Experience in personnel recruitment, selection, and training. Competence in leading team meetings, training, and fostering staff motivation. Familiarity with office management and administrative procedures including efficient organizational systems and processes. Awareness with how people behave and perform, understanding everyone's unique skills, personalities, and interests, how we learn and stay motivated, ways to research these topics, and how to evaluate and address various emotional and behavioral issues. Ability to communicate effectively in various methods as appropriate for the type of communication and audience.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Associate Director plays a key leadership role within our mental health services agency and is responsible for the clinical management the agency’s Flexible Integrative Treatment Program (FIT), a community-based program catering to the mental health needs of youth and their families. The Associate Director of Clinical Services is responsible for the overall provision of high-quality clinical services at their designated clinic site and shall offer supervision, mentorship, motivation, and skills-building resources to their LPHA and LPHA-waived clinical staff. The role involves close collaboration with staff and managers of related departments to effectively carry out our flexible integrated treatment modality and foster optimal outcomes for those we serve. The Associate Director will also be a critical bridge between agency clinicians and community partners (e.g., Sacramento County Contracts Monitor, School Districts, Child Protective Services, Probation, Psychiatric and Medical Providers, the Sacramento County Access team and other mental health providers). Working in concert with the Director of Clinical Services, the Associate Director will adopt a continuous improvement strategy to ensure excellence in all aspects of service delivery. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 3 years full-time experience in community-based intensive mental health services. At least 3 years as a Clinical Program Manager preferred. Preferred training and certification in Evidence-Based Practices (TF-CBT, Strengthening Families, DBT, etc.). Proven leadership in clinical settings, both in-office and community-based. Experience with youth and adults with a range of mental health symptoms/behaviors. Preferred licensure of an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT license for a minimum of 2 years, or similar credentials recognized by the California Board of Behavioral Science. Preferred master’s degree in social work or related field. Education and experience may be considered in lieu of licensure and collegiate degree.
