Member Services Director directs and coordinates all aspects of the health maintenance organization (HMO) member services department. Plans and directs policies and objectives for addressing member inquiries. Being a Member Services Director establishes service quality goals for the department and implements strategies to meet these goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Member Services Director typically reports to top management. The Member Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Member Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     The Director of Nursing assists with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by being responsible for the overall staffing, staff training and development, and management of personnel in the Nursing Department. The Director of Nursing also is responsible for the overall quality of care assessment, planning, documentation and provision of services to residents.

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervising day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of the nursing department
    • Create a positive team environment that is patient/resident centered
    • Demonstrate excellent understanding of clinical skills and key nursing programs
    • Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines
    • Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating our written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of department
    • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting
    • Help determine staffing needs
    • Provide direct nursing care as necessary

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of three years’ experience in nursing service administration required including 2 or more as a Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing facility
    • Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maine required
    • Education or experience in long term care or geriatric nursing
    • Must be able to demonstrate age specific knowledge of developmental factors for adult and geriatric residents
    • Demonstrate effective communication skills, problem solving, and conflict resolution
    • Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
    • Strong customer service skills and compassion
