Membership Director oversees an association or member organization's strategic goal-setting, implementation, and service operations to expand membership and deliver member satisfaction. Develops programs and initiatives to engage current members and recruit new ones. Being a Membership Director establishes service operational standards and policies to deliver efficient services to members. Implements web or social media processes to promote the organization and distribute membership information to prospective members. Additionally, Membership Director uses data-driven analysis, tools, and reports to measure member satisfaction and retention and to optimize services. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Membership Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Membership Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     JOB DESCRIPTION

    IT Manager / IT Director is responsible for developing and leading a team that ensures DREMC information and technology assets perform at a high level within a robust cybersecurity environment. This includes a wide array of technology platforms, including hardware and software.  

     

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR IT MANAGER

    1. Consistently demonstrate a behavioral pattern that supports and models DREMC’s 11 Essential Attributes.
    2. Consistently model the Leadership Principles of Leadership Landmines, 8 Management Catastrophes and How to Avoid Them.
    3. Develop professional team members who consistently, accurately, and appropriately respond to or initiate communication in a proactive manner to positively impact DREMC IT users.
    4. Ensure IT cybersecurity, data security, risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity planning processes are current, adequate and provide regular review.
    5. Oversee the purchase, installation, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems.
    6. Assist employees in understanding and using technology.
    7. Plan and evaluate new technology solutions in view of organizational goals and objectives.
    8. Provide technology planning and support services, including assisting departments in defining business and user requirements.
    9. Evaluate existing business technology resources and recommend new technologies or upgrades/enhancements.
    10. Administer and manage the DREMC network system, including troubleshooting connectivity issues.
    11. Oversee the infrastructure for the internal business Land Mobile Radio communication system and related applications.
    12. Implement, administrate, and maintain core databases.
    13. Responsible for reviewing and approving time records for payroll as needed and consistent with all DREMC policies.
    14. Study and apply DREMC policies, procedures, by-laws, rules and regulations.
    15. Conduct accurate and consistent employee performance evaluations while maintaining a productive and professional atmosphere by coaching, training, and motivating employees.

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR IT MANAGER

    Education — Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in computer science, information technology (IT), management information systems (MIS) or related field required. Relevant industry experience, certifications and/or relevant training may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.

    Experience — Minimum of five (5) years of experience in computer science, IT or MIS required. Supervisory experience is preferred.  Experience in the electric utility industry preferred.

    Certification/License, etc. — CISSP and/or CISM preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Tennessee Driver’s License.  Must be eligible and remain insured as a driver by the Cooperative’s group liability policy for the automotive fleet.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Knowledgeable of current emerging technology and regulations that affect information technology, cybersecurity and/or risk management-related topics and responsible for staying informed on changes related to those topics. Knowledge of computer platform, local area networks (LAN), web, cloud, and mobile-based systems.  Ability to occasionally lift and carry 25-50 pounds. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, squat, push and/or pull.  Possesses effective oral and written communications skills. Ability to prioritize, delegate, and meet deadlines.

      

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR IT DIRECTOR

    Must meet accountabilities of IT Manager and is additionally responsible for:

    1. Consistently demonstrate a behavioral pattern that supports and models DREMC’s 11 Essential Attributes.
    2. Must be able and willing to lead consistently with a positive cultural influence throughout DREMC.
    3. Consistently demonstrates an intense intellectual curiosity that is guided by sound judgment in the best interests of DREMC.
    4. Develop strategy as it relates to the organization’s IT infrastructure.
    5. Aptitude to create, facilitate, or champion solutions and practical implementation to benefit members and employees.
    6. Coordinates DREMC IT activities relating to developing work plans.
    7. Inspects IT projects and completed work orders, periodically.
    8. Analyze and confirm the accuracy of various daily, monthly, and yearly reports.
    9. Maintains an awareness of DREMC’s goals and vision.
    10. Provides support to the team entrusted to the position with appropriate leadership and respect.
    11. Maintains confidentiality while handling employee and member inquiries with sensitivity and respect.
    12. Must offer and solicit feedback on a regular basis.
