ABOUT THE ROLE

The Membership Manager will report to the Senior Membership Director and will primarily support programming for legislators within our State Future Caucus Network to increase network-wide engagement and connections among members across state lines. The Membership Manager’s responsibilities will include developing tactics for bipartisan relationship-building among young state legislators, sharing best practices for Future Caucus success across the network, and coordinating opportunities to engage with key policy ideas. The Membership Manager will also be responsible for increasing Future Caucus identity across the network, including the development of network-wide member engagement opportunities, task forces, and events.

Responsibilities:

• Support work with State Future Caucus co-chairs and their staffs to outline and execute on legislative priorities

• Coordinate efforts to build out robust engagement with our existing state caucus co-chairs and members

• Track and monitor relevant state and federal lawmakers in key State Future Caucus chapters
• Conduct research, draft white papers, and create engagement tools for lawmakers
• Execute the program’s communications strategy, including its online presence, with legislators and other vital stakeholders

• Take on other tasks related to the State Caucus program or otherwise support Future Caucus as needed

Please note that other tasks may arise related to communications, strategic development, operations, personnel and other tasks to support the efforts of the organization.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years working for a politically engaged organization or in the office of an elected official
• Experience in policy research and event planning are required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to communicate with public officials, organizational allies, and members of the public
• Proficiency with major database and CRM software such as EveryAction, Quorum, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with website design and graphic design tools such as Squarespace and Canva
• Firm understanding of state legislative processes and the priority issues of Future Caucus
• Strong organizational skills exemplifying a solution-focused perspective with attention to detail
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team
• Openness to receiving and adjusting to constructive feedback
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in the representation of Future Caucus

Salary and Benefits
