Merchandise Allocator jobs in Texas

Position Summary: Responsible for the merchandise assortment of assigned product categories through timely and accurate planning, allocation and distribution of merchandise. Assist buyers with purchase order merchandise flow through the distribution center and with vendor shipping problems. Assist planner with merchandise analysis as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Distribute all merchandise in assigned categories using careful analysis and established guidelines for shipment.
• Maintain backup records with appropriate documentation.
• Establish and coordinate effective communication with the warehouse to maintain an efficient flow of merchandise through the facility. Identify and help resolve with management any issues or problems with purchase order assortments and quality control.
• Monitor scheduled shipments and determine planned allocation. Report problems to supervisor.
• Monitor merchandise assortment of individual stores to maximize sales, balance inventories, monitor opportunity stores, and review new store development inventory against plan.
• Maintain current and accurate purchase order files including style and SKU’s; process purchase order corrections necessary to maintain reporting integrity.
• Work with buyers to request new vendor information and to obtain proper return authorizations when necessary.
• Communicate with District Managers for individual store merchandise requests and respond within 48 hours.
• Work with planner to keep each store’s inventory balanced and to maintain the desired weeks of supply on hand. Review stores inventory plans by class weekly and modify if needed.
• Maintain updated store attribute listings and selling style groups to maximize sales in assigned departments.
• Perform special projects as assigned by management.

Education: HS Diploma or equivalent required.

Work Experience: 12-18 months experience in merchandise allocation or related field; experience in a buying and/or merchandising office is a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Strong detail orientation and mathematical aptitude; Experience in Excel, Microsoft Word; Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and to complete job assignments with minimum supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year
