Purpose:
The Assistant Merchandise Planner is part of the Merchandising Team working directly with the Merchandise Planner to update purchase order arrivals and place special orders submitted by stores accurately and timely to support the sales and profit goals for the organization.
General Description of duties:
- Assist Merchandise Planner with various duties to support the merchandising organization.
- Build customer special orders and inform sales associate of any changes or delays that may occur.
- Maintenance of special-order lead times in our internal systems.
- Learn and assist with planning functions for domestic and import upholstery products.
- Communicate with vendors to update purchase order arrival times.
- Assist in coverage for order placement of bedding items when needed.
- Follow policies and procedures to ensure that the company is operating under best practices for all vendor purchase orders.
- Adhere to strict deadlines and demonstrate the ability to understand and execute on detail orientated tasks.
Qualifications:
- Manage multiple and high priority assignments in an organized and accurate manner
- Work as part of a collaborative team
- Detailed oriented and good written and verbal communicator
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s Degree preferred
- Experience in Purchasing preferred
- Experience in Merchandising preferred
