The Getty Research Institute seeks a Library Assistant/Metadata Assistant IV to work with the Research Services team at the Getty Library to fulfill Reproductions and Permissions requests submitted in the Special Collections Reading Room, mostly from Getty staff and onsite requestors. Reporting to the Metadata Specialist I, the Metadata Assistant IV’s primary duties are to assist in the processing of daily requests for image orders, reviewing rights information and entering metadata into the OpenText Media Management System (OTMM) the Getty’s Digital Asset Management System (DAM), thereby facilitating delivery, use, and re-use of each image requested for reproduction. Other duties may include, paging, shelving, and circulating Special Collections items using the Getty’s integrated library system, Ex Libris’ Alma and Primo, to manage library materials and patron requests, and working with colleagues to maintain storage vaults.
The Metadata Assistant IV provides services to a wide variety of staff and researchers, replies to routine queries, and refers more complex queries to the Metadata Specialist, reference librarians, or curators as appropriate. Participates in additional projects as assigned.
