Metadata Services Director jobs in Montgomery, AL

• Perform cataloging of library materials in all formats, and adds and/or updates holding information in copy holdings and item records for copies and volumes
• Work in cooperation with the Assistant Catalog Librarian, the Archivist, and the Administrative Head Coordinator for Public, Technical & Assessment Services
• Maintain Local Holding Records in OCLC
• Perform Authority Control for name headings, title headings, and subject headings
• Participate in digitization projects including digitizing materials and create metadata;
• Participate in inventory control projects and perform metadata services for digital materials
• Process library materials, print spine labels, affix bar codes, and affix spine labels
• Check and prepare items to be sent to collections to make available for library users
• Maintain daily cataloging statistics and metadata statistics
• Maintain processing areas
• Supervise student workers and assistants
• Serve on library committees
• Responsible for knowledge, understanding and implementation of LMS cataloging module
• Perform error clean up in LMS Cataloging module
• Inspect scanned files for quality and completeness and enter appropriate metadata for the scanned titles
• Perform other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree is required.  Experience in library cataloging or materials processing preferred.
