Position Summary:
The Monitor Tech functions under the direction of the registered nurse and is responsible for cardiac observation and reporting the cardiac rhythm changes to the nursing staff assigned to the patient and/or their manager when indicated, for further investigation and elevation of care. The Monitor Tech will demonstrate knowledge appropriate to the age of the patients served. Demonstration of knowledge will include principles of growth and development, interpretation of information and data to identify the patients age specific needs as well as recognition of EKG rhythm and morphology changes requiring action taken on behalf of the patients care.
Minimum Requirements:
Recent acute care clinical experience preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Successful completion of rhythm identification training and EKG telemetry competency test (experienced techs may bypass the training by passing competency test)
High school diploma or GED is required
