Being a Monitor Technician provides notes to medical staff in charge of the patient. Ensures that monitors are functioning properly. Additionally, Monitor Technician may require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Monitor Technician works under moderate supervision. General Description:
The Special Care Unit Monitor Technician is responsible for cardiac rhythm monitoring, Meditech order entry, and limited patient care duties. S/he interprets reports rhythm changes to nursing staff, maintains equipment, and performs various clerical duties such as answering phones and stocking supplies. Vital signs acquisition and monitoring, reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
