Requirements:
5 years relevant experience in a large enterprise environment
Strong hands-on experience with networking platforms
Must have excellent knowledge of routing, switching, firewall and VPN concepts
Must have a strong working knowledge of common WAN and LAN implementations
Must have a strong understanding of routing protocols, including at least BGP and OSPF
Must have a strong understanding of QOS, and analysis of packets using tools like Wireshark
Experience with SD-WAN platforms and deployment would be a major advantage
Must have a strong understanding of spanning tree operation and troubleshooting
Good knowledge of securing and hardening networks and devices, network security concepts and managing zero-trust network environments
Must have excellent network troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of application level network troubleshooting preferred
Knowledge of and experience with Checkpoint firewalls would be a major advantage
Knowledge of and experience with network infrastructure for Cloud (AWS/GCP) deployments would be a major advantage
Knowledge of network automation and scripting would be a major advantage
Knowledge of Wireless LAN standards and deployments would be an advantage
Knowledge of Datacenter Switching platforms would be an advantage
Strong Linux/Unix skills would be an advantage
Should be self-driven and capable of learning new technical skills independently
Must have excellent communication skills, including written communication and the ability to prepare and present documentation regarding projects or tasks
Must be able to follow processes, the team’s best practices and checklists diligently
Role:
Work on Level 3/4 support and escalations for global network infrastructure
Work on network engineering and design projects and global network deployments
Work on securing and hardening Sanmina’s network
Work with other IT teams on troubleshooting application performance issues
Provide support and incident management for major outages
Proactively work on improving efficiency and reliability of Sanmina’s network
Put together detailed technical documentation, drawings and work instructions for the other engineers to follow
Proactively update skills in technology areas and platforms that are relevant to Sanmina
Follow all processes and best practices that are in place at Sanmina and help other team members to follow them
Train and mentor junior team members
Keep network drawings and SOX404 documentation up to date.
