Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. This position, reporting to the VP of Engineering, plays a critical role in our continued efforts to expand our engineering teams and scale our business. In this role, you will lead multiple teams of high-performing technical Solution Engineers, Architects, Team Leads, and Managers focused on delivering successful business outcomes for our clients.

    What You’ll Do

    As an Engineering Director at CompuNet, you will be responsible for leading and managing a regional engineering organization. This position will be partnered with a regional Sales Director to develop and execute a regional business plan. High-level responsibilities with either complete and shared ownership include Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Service Delivery, Customer Satisfaction, and overall region profitability. The Engineering Director will ensure Engineering and Service Delivery teams are staffed appropriately, utilized, and effective in their roles. This position will participate in global leadership meetings and report on regional business strategies and outcomes. To be successful in this role, you must possess keen business intuition and strong technical acumen.

    Responsibilities:

     Develop and execute upon an annual business plan for your region with your Sales Director counterpart.

    • Participate in global leadership meetings and represent regional business strategies and outcomes.
    • Collaborate with the Engineering Leadership team to shape and grow CompuNet’s Engineering practice.
    • Be the facilitator/conduit of company communication from global meetings to the regional team.
    • Develop strong relationships with strategic OEM partners and customers.
    • Establish collaborative relationships built on trust and commitment; develop relationships at multiple levels within customer accounts; drive customer loyalty.
    • Monitor regional services portfolio, including activity from Engineers, Project Managers/Coordinators, Program Managers, and Service Delivery Managers. 
    • Skilled in recruiting, hiring and effectively manage Engineering and Service Delivery resources, Team Leads and Managers.
    • Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to Engineers, Team Leads, and Managers.
    • Develop Team Leads and Manager capabilities to support individual career goals while also being aligned with regional/company goals through Professional Development and Business Plans.
    • Provide timely and appropriate feedback through regular cadence meetings with direct team members.
    • Sponsor, lead, or ensure regional team meeting structures are in place and effective, including team building events.
    • Encourage and empower team members to think creatively and participate in new solution development and process improvement.
    • Drive and reinforce CompuNet culture and core values
    • Lead and participate in cross-organizational initiatives and teams.
    • Clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas, including expert executive communication and presentation skills.

    Qualifications:

    • B.S. Degree with 8-12 years industry experience or equivalent, preferably in a leadership capacity.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, thought leadership, mentorship, and the ability to build and motivate highly productive teams.
    • Advanced experience with business development and overall technology industry trends.
    • Understand the technical and business implications of enterprise networking, collaboration, data center, security, applications, and cloud technologies.
    • Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment
    • Able to get things done without direct line authority; able to exercise personal influence, resolve conflict, and bring about required behaviors.
    • Strong negotiation skills and leadership acumen.
    • Ability to travel when required
