DUTIES
Support the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) Nuclear & Criticality Safety Engineering (N&CSE) organization in the development of emergency preparedness documentation for various nuclear facilities at the Savannah River Site (SRS). As an Emergency Planning Analyst (SGL 34 – Senior Engineer/Scientist A) primary duties are to participate in the development, preparation, and/or review All-Hazards Surveys, Emergency Planning Hazards Assessments (EPHAs), and related technical documents. This includes participating in planning and hazards analysis meetings, developing accident analyses using barrier analysis (i.e., failure of engineered barrier, failure of administrative barrier or control), and performing Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) and Emergency Action Level (EAL) evaluations. This also includes performing consequence assessments using the ALOHA, HotSpot, or related computer codes.
EDUCATION
Degree in Engineering or Science. PhD in applicable science or engineering discipline and 2 years relevant work experience, MS degree and 5 years relevant work experience, or BS degree and 7 years relevant work experience required. Alternate combinations of education and relevant work experience will be considered.

Work will be on an as needed basis but may include full-time. When full-time, SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, four days per-week on week A and B and 8 hours on fifth day of week A). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. SRNS
Management will determine best schedule depending on work needs. Each workday has an unpaid 30-minute lunch break.
Area Security Access:
Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “L” security clearance. Supplier shall possess a positive FOCI determination from DOE which includes the “L” security clearance level (or “Q” if a “Q” cleared candidate is proposed). An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on work assignments. Candidate who has had an active “L” or “Q” clearance within the past two years is preferred.
