    Join a team that cares. FCN is currently recruiting for an Epic Ambulatory Analyst to join our team! This role is responsible for the ongoing assessment, design, development, testing, support, training, and maintenance of assigned applications.

    Title: Epic Ambulatory Analyst

    Location: Administrative Office - EMR Department

    City: Bellingham, WA

    Position: Full-time 40 hours, non-exempt (hourly) - This role is performed onsite in the EMR Department.

    Job Summary: The Epic Ambulatory Analyst is responsible for the ongoing assessment, design, development, testing, support, training, and maintenance of assigned applications. This Epic Ambulatory Analyst role will have a primary focus on the MyChart and Hello World modules. The Analyst participates fully in the Epic project team, becoming a key subject matter expert and acting as the liaison between clinics and the project team, performing at the highest level of all phases of Epic application analysis, workflow analysis, building and testing. The Analyst possesses a strong understanding of FCN operations, demonstrated project management skills and effective organizational skills.

    Epic Ambulatory Analyst Position Structure and Role Placement/Progression

    The Epic Ambulatory Analyst role is structured to reflect the industry standard which provides a tiered approach to recognizing a candidate and/or incumbents Epic related experience in this application, Epic certification or accreditation as well as tenure within the organization. The position structure and role placement/progression are defined below:

    Epic Ambulatory Tech Previous EHR application support experience preferred. Through training, experience and commitment demonstrates proficiency and aptitude and at Epics guidance and FCNs discretion is provided the opportunity to take the certification/accreditation examination.
    Epic Ambulatory Analyst I Possesses Epic certification/accreditation in the application. *An external candidate will be placed in the position tier based upon the applicability of previous work experience.
    Epic Ambulatory Analyst II Minimum 3 years experience as an Epic Ambulatory Analyst at FCN* with a demonstrated track record of success in all key job functions. *An external candidate will be placed in the position tier based upon the applicability of previous work experience.
    Epic Ambulatory Senior Analyst

    Minimum 5 years experience as an Epic Ambulatory Analyst at FCN* with a broad understanding, expertise and certifications in multiple applications. *An external candidate will be placed in the position tier based upon the applicability of previous work experience.

    Compensation (hourly)

    • Epic Ambulatory Tech  $26.20- $36.67
    • Epic Ambulatory Analyst I  $29.37 - $44.08 
    • Epic Ambulatory Analyst II  $31.70 - $47.58 
    • Epic Ambulatory Senior Analyst  $34.24 - $51.38 

    Bonus: Employees are eligible annually to participate in discretionary bonus programs, as determined by FCN, which include the Years-of-Service bonus program, the Quality Performance bonus program, and the Performance Recognition bonus program.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Analyze user requirements, procedures and problems to automate or improve existing systems.
    • Acts as a primary support contact for application end-users.
    • Identifies issues that arise related to the application as well as issues that impact other application teams and works to resolve them.
    • Knowledge of community clinic relationships.
    • Guides workflow design, building and testing of the system, ensures data integrity and analyzes other technical issues associated with Epic software.
    • Defines system setup requirements and documents system setup.
    • Identifies and implements requested changes to the system.
    • Evaluates, prepares, customizes and participates in upgrades and special updates.
    • Serves as a liaison between end-users workflow needs and Epic implementations staff.
    • Maintains regular communication with Epic representatives, including participating in project team meetings.
    • Works with Epic representatives, FCNs business community and end-users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs in regard to the project deliverables and timeline.
    • Learns Epic technology and performs system maintenance tasks such as system imports, basic reporting and system configuration.
    • Develop an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for FCNs workflows by attending site visits and other integrated sessions.
    • Participates in training and working with end-users.
    • Troubleshoots problems and questions.
    • Review the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
    • Communicate regularly with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget and upcoming milestones
    • Seeks assistance as needed and asks questions in a timely manner and to appropriate staff.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Familiarity with clinical workflows and patient experiences within a clinical setting.
    • Understanding of a wide array of EHR integration points, including scheduling, lab, radiology, billing and referrals.

    At FCN, we value the importance of time away from work for leisure, health and well-being. Staff members accrue a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) program for vacation and short-term healthcare needs as well as an Extended Illness Bank (EIB).

    • Our PTO and EIB benefits begin accruing from the first day of employment and employees are eligible to take paid time off after 60 days of employment. An employee accrues PTO at a rate based upon the number of months of service at FCN. A new full-time employee generally accrues 18 days per year. EIB accrues based upon the number of paid hours excluding overtime, with a full-time employee accruing a maximum of 48 hours per year.Benefit eligibility is determined based on the full or part-time status of the position. Employees who are ineligible for FCN’s PTO/EIB programs accrue Paid Sick Leave per Washington State law.

    Our 401k retirement plan is designed to support you in preparing for retirement planning and include individualized financial planning guidance. Eligibility for the FCN Retirement Plan programs is determined based upon years of service and required payroll hours. We offer the following programs:

    Additional qualifications required for specific Epic applications

    An Analyst may specialize as well in other Epic applications in addition to the ambulatory EMR. These applications may include, but are not limited to:

    Care Everywhere

    • Familiarity with current outside organization connection strategy.

    EpicCare Link

    • Familiarity with FCNs community clinic relationships and how those groups interact.
    • Familiarity with the non-clinical external groups that need to access information about certain patients and why they need the information.

    Health Information Management (HIM)

    • Familiarity with the organizations processes that fall under HIM: Chart Tracking, Release of Information, Deficiency Tracking and Coding.
    • Familiarity with transcription and scanning workflows and vendors, and confidentiality and privacy guidelines.

    Identity

    • Detailed knowledge of the status of FCNs Master Patient Index (MPI) interfaces and other sources of patient information.
    • Understanding of FCNs duplicate patient management process.

    MyChart

    • Familiarity with legal requirements and operational policies related to patient and family privacy practices.

    Epic Certification/Accreditation & Training Requirements

    If a staff member is Epic certified/accredited prior to hire, FCN will determine if additional Epic training is required to assure proficiency or currency in the new assigned role and may provide Epic training at the organizations discretion.

    If a staff member is not Epic certified/accredited prior to hire, FCN will provide Epic training at the appropriate timeframe based upon demonstrated aptitude, readiness for the training and the Epic training schedule. It is expected, that after the training is completed, the staff member will take the Epic Certification exam and become certified/accredited. Although the staff member may be provided with up to two additional attempts to achieve certification/accreditation, if the employee is unable to do so, at the discretion of FCN, the staff member may no longer be considered qualified to meet the requirements of the position.

    Training Requirements The Epic Ambulatory Analyst attends the appropriate course track as designated by Epic and Family Care Network.

    Education & Experience:

    • Minimum of three to five years healthcare experience preferred.
    • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

    Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.

    Immunization Requirements:

    All employees at Family Care Network (FCN) are expected to meet and maintain required immunizations as a contingency of employment. The immunization requirements are as follows: Influenza (annually), Tdap (after the age of 19), MMR, Varicella or a verified history of chickenpox disease, Two-step TST or IGRA (within the last 12 months), COVID-19 vaccine completed series and any additional immunizations determined necessary for the protection of staff and patients. Hepatitis B is also required for employees in positions with a high risk of bloodborne pathogen exposure, which includes the following: Providers, RNs, LPNs, MA-Cs, PSRs at all Urgent Care Locations, and all-laboratory staff. The Hepatitis B vaccine is strongly recommended for all other employees. FCN will cover the cost of required immunizations for any FCN employee. All employee immunizations will be administered by FCN staff except for the COVID-19 vaccine. The COVID-19 vaccine can be administered at a participating pharmacy or other healthcare location. Note: A medical or religious vaccine exemption/reasonable accommodation will be considered by submitting an FCN Exemption form for review and evaluation by the Chief Medical Officer.
